By late August the meadow has given up on neatness. Seed heads, tall grass, the last poppies.

We stopped mowing this corner two years ago. It now has more bees, more birds and more colour than the lawn ever had.

## Letting things grow

Letting go is harder than it sounds. It takes a season before the mess starts to look like a plan.

It is worth the wait.
